Personal Data

TrafikAlarm.dk’s privacy policy explains how we use the personal information you leave when you use our website or app.

Definition of personal data

Personal information is any kind of information that may be attributed to you to some extent.

When you use our websites and our app, we collect and process a number of such information.

It happens, for example by access to content, if you sign up for our newsletter, participate in competitions or surveys, register as a user or subscriber, use our services or make purchases.

Purpose of collecting personal data

The information is used to identify you as a user, to record your purchases and payments, and to provide the service and services you have requested, such as if you have chosen too submit to our newsletter.

In addition, we use the information to optimize our services and content.

Cookies

TrafikAlarm.dk uses cookies and session cookies for among other things, login and your choice of “Full” and “mobile” version of our website, so you can freely move around our site while logged in.

Session cookies are automatically deleted when your browser is closed or after a few minutes of inactivity, whereas cookies (which are small, innocent text files in your browser) can exist for a significantly longer time.

We use cookies to give you the most user-friendly experience of our site, and by using our site you accept our use of cookies.

Cookies and third party cookies from for example: Google Analytics and Facebook are used to collect anonymous statistics about the use of our website, and to target our marketing, analyze the use of our website and display content that may be tailored to your interests.

Collection of personal data

We only collect, process and store the personal data necessary to fulfill our stated purpose.

In addition, legislation may determine the type of data that is required to collect and store for our business operations.

The type and extent of the personal data we process may also be necessary to fulfill a contract or other legal obligation.

When you create a user profile, either at www.TrafikAlarm.dk or through our app, you must enter your e-mail address as a minimum.

This also acts as a login afterwards.

It is optional if you later update your profile and provide us with additional information such as your name.

If the user profile is created after referral from an online ad, we store information about which advertiser the user profile is referred from in order to optimize our marketing.

If you use our shop for ordering goods, you must enter your name, address and telephone number in order for us to deliver the ordered goods.

Your contact information is used only for your purchase of goods.

TrafikAlarm.dk uses Google Analytics to analyze and optimize the use of our website and app

By using our system it logs information about which user has added the various reviews (traffic events), who has provided feedback on reviews, etc.

Notification (reporting) using the “Current Location” or “1-Click Notification” feature stores information about the user’s location, which is retrieved via GPS, if the user’s device is authorized to use GPS.

This is both to protect us against abuse, but also to deliver a high quality product to all our users.

Traffic Alarm app keeps in touch with our server on an ongoing basis to ensure against abuse (such as sharing profile / subscription between multiple people), no location, speed, etc. information is sent, but only information about the app and if one is active on that profile and phone.

Submitting anonymous data to improve Traffic Alarm (Crash log and error in the app), submits data such as device name, operating system type and app version to our server, completely anonymous and in no way connected to your profile with us.

Using the odometer in the Traffic Alarm app will automatically synchronize mileage to our server through your Traffic Alarm profile.

This is to ensure that your miles do not disappear if, for example, you switch mobile phones or use different phones (example: private and work phone).

Turning off the odometer in the Traffic Alarm app on your mobile phone also turns off automatic synchronization and your mileage is no longer updated on our server.

Note: No information is stored about where you have driven your miles, either on our server or locally on your mobile phone in the Traffic Alarm app.

The only information stored about your location is mentioned elsewhere in our Privacy Policy.

No information is provided, including sold, to third parties.

Your e-mail address is used for creating / confirming your login, and other profile-related information and transactions (such as subscription renewal), but may occasionally be used to send newsletters, including with information about offers or other products from us – but without your information ever being disclosed to third parties.

You can unsubscribe from e-mails regarding offers at any time, but e-mails regarding your profile at TrafikAlarm.dk cannot be unsubscribed as long as your profile is active.

Payment for subscription and goods

If you purchase a subscription through our app, we will not receive any personal information from the App Store / Google Play.

If you purchase a subscription through www.TrafikAlarm.dk, payment will be made by card via the payment provider “Braintree Inc.”, from which we do not receive information about you, but you must at least enter your e-mail address in order for your subscription to be connected to your Traffic Alarm profile.

If your payment is approved, the subscription is linked to your user profile and can then be used both on www.TrafikAlarm.dk and in our app on mobile platforms.

When paying for goods, your address must be stated in order to deliver the goods.

For the purposes of VAT and Tax Settlement, we must store a copy of purchase invoice, which may include the following (if provided): Name, telephone number, email, address, invoice / payment details and order history.
